Gage Roads Sleeping Giant IPA Review WA Scene

Gage Roads Sleeping Giant IPA

Gage Roads Sleeping Giant IPA (RRP $3.99 per 330ml)

Style: India Pale Ale
Alcohol: 5.4%

Gage Roads has been around for few years now and in that time it has experimented with beers of various styles with mixed success. One of the latest offerings from the brewer is it’s Gage Roads Sleeping Giant IPA.

Pours a brownish copper colour, with a medium creamy foam head, the revised India Pale Ale certainly looks the part. The palate possesses caramel and dark citrus characteristics accompanied by hints of pepper which come from a healthy whack of East Kent Goldings and New Zealand grown English Fuggle hops and a pinch of US Centennial. Malt content is also well weighted in a firm sonefruit foundation which eases to a dry and well-balanced bitter finish. This beer is certainly a step-up from the previous Gage Road IPA.
