Gage Roads has gone through a significant growth spell over the last 12 months.  The Palmyra based craft brewery has entered an ambitious new commercial era. This growth has been driven by a corporate alliance with supermarket giant Woolworths Limited with products such as Dry Dock Premium Larger. In an endeavor to keep it’s craft brewing roots Gage Roads has created a range known as Brewer’s Selection.  Atomic Pale Ale is Gage Roads take on an American style Pale Ale which falls under this Brewers’s Selection label.

Citra, Ahtanum and Centennial hops define this as the US-style golden ale. Added to the kettle, the hops deliver balanced bitterness and fruity hop characters on the palate. Dry hopping during fermentation gives this pale ale a perky aroma of passionfruit and grapefruit.  Four specialist malts, including cara, supply colour and a slight sweetness.  The ale is a little short on length with a clean malt finish.  Overall this beer is a step in the right direction and makes a good session beer.
