Churchview Estate was established in 1999 by the Fokkema family and is located in Metricup, which is part of the world famous south-west wine-growing region of Margaret River in Western Australia. Churchview Estate gets its name from the Heritage Listed St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, which can be seen from the tasting room. Typically rich and elegant, Churchview Estate’s Shiraz are fast gaining a reputation of being top class.

The 2009 Churchview Estate Shiraz is an elegantly crafted wine with the addition of 4% Mouvedre adding complexity. This wine displays a nose of intense blackberry, cherry, plum, white pepper and toasty oak. It’s a full-bodied, rich and forceful shiraz that possesses rich flavours of plum, dark blackcurrants, a touch of oak and sinewy tannins giving the wine some length. This is a wine that delivers a nice punch on the mid-palate and is probably best suited to drinking in the short-term.
