Watershed Senses Sauvignon Blanc 2010 (RRP $25)
Growing Region: Margaret River
Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Alcohol: 13.5%

The Watershed vineyard is situated 4.8 km south of Margaret River at the intersection of Darch Road and Bussell Highway, Margaret River. The name of the winery comes from the definition of the word watershed which means ‘to go to a new (higher) level of understanding; an awakening’. A second meaning is ‘a high area of land between two bodies of water’. Both meanings are equally relevant to Watershed Premium Wines.

The last few vintages of the Watershed Senses Sauvignon Blanc have really been quiet good and this is another superb Sauvignon Blanc from this excellent producer. The nose displays lifted citrus, lemongrass and passion fruit aromas with notes of roasted almonds. The 50% barrel fermentation in French oak, seems to have balanced this wine with slightly less primary fruit character. However the wine will reveal more of its qualities with further aging. It will cellar well for up to 3 years. Powerful and loaded with intense tropical fruit this wine exhibits a complex creamy texture with a lingering crisp finish.

92/100
