Deep Woods Estate is a boutique winery located on Commonage Road, Yallingup in the northern corner of the premium wine-growing region of Margaret River in Western Australia – close to the resort town of Dunsborough. Deep Woods is focused on producing excellent quality wines that emphasise the vineyard’s terroir and the 2011 Deep Woods Ivory Semillon Sauvignon Blanc does exactly that.

The 2011 Deep Woods Ivory Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a very good wine. Ivory is a classic blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc from premium growers and estate-grown fruit. 2011 was a warm, dry and very short season for whites in the region that enabled the production of a wine of exemplary varietal purity and freshness. This continues a trend as previous vintages were of a high quality also. It’s a very pale in colour with some green hues showing through. The Nose displays lively tropical passionfruit, guava and hints of lime. The palate displays intense citrus flavours, with a herbaceous crunch adding complexity. A refreshingly racy acid backbone provides structure and length.
